Daniel Skinner
Actor | Improviser | Artist
About
Daniel (he/him) is an NYC-based actor, improviser, and stage combatant. Originally from Laramie, Wyoming, his debut as Joseph in the preschool nativity play spurred his love of acting (even though he didn’t get to ride the donkey - a grudge he holds to this day). After a childhood spent training in summer programs like Perry-Mansfield and The American Shakespeare Center, he earned his BFA in Acting from Elon University, where he graduated summa cum laude and honed his passion for stage combat, improv, and Shakespeare.
Daniel has worked in regional theaters across the United States, from Wyoming’s Snowy Range Summer Theatre Festival, to North Carolina’s “The Horn in the West,” to the Penobscot Theatre Company in Maine. While he easily slots into young heroes, romantics, and academics like Hamlet, Jake in Clarkston, or Valentine in Arcadia, he also thrives in character roles, like Dmitri in Lauren Yee’s Mother Russia, whom he played in the East Coast Premiere.
He continues to train at institutions such as The Upright Citizens Brigade, The Barrow Group, and Neutral Chaos. When not performing, he can be found out-lifting his demons at the gym, begging people to play some D&D, and justifying whatever ludicrously expensive LEGO set he just bought.
